REMA: Réseau Européen de Musique Ancien, 20 – 23 / 08

REMA, Réseau Européen de Musique Ancien / Network for Early Music / het Europese netwerk van oude muziek festivals, heeft op zijn jaarvergadering in Antwerpen op 23 augustus, op voordracht van MAf /Musica Antiqua festival Brugge en het Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, het Geelvinck Fortepiano Festival als lid opgenomen. Oude muziek wordt door REMA breed opgevat: van Middeleeuws en Renaissance, tot Barok en vroege Romantiek, waarvan de fortepiano het kenmerkend instrument is.

Samen met het Italiaanse Urbino Musica Antica en het Bach Festival in Orléans, is het Geelvinck Fortepiano Festival als nieuw lid binnen REMA opgenomen. zie de aankondiging

Over het Geelvinck Fortepiano Festival :

Founded in 2001 (first edition of the festival) Number of concerts : 25 concerts in Amsterdam ; in addition 8 fringe concerts and 10 concerts outside

invited artists : (5th edition) Yuko Abe-Haueis, Clara Biermasz, Norberto Broggini, Willem Brons, Shuann Chai, David Chung, Frans Fuselier, Kaoru Iwamura, Adam Javorkai, Tae-Young Kim, Roele Kok, Joyce Lindorff, Anna Maria McElwain, Tulia Melandri, Evgeni Mikhailov, Dóra Pétery, Jeroen Sarphati, Megumi Tanno, James Tibbles, Gabriele Toia, Daniël Vecht, Frederic Voorn, Elisabeth Walker & Richard Shaw, Johannette Zomer, and others (Ciconia Consort, Mediterrean Trio a.o.)

The festival is created around the Sweelinck Collection of historic pianos (over 90 historic pianos, mainly fortepianos and squarepianos). Keeper of the collection (formerly the collection at the Conservatory of Amsterdam) is Museum Geelvinck Hinlopen Huis.

The festival co-operates with the Conservatory of Amsterdam. The festival received the EFFE-quality label.

Concert venues : Geelvinck Hinlopen Huis (city-palace), Amsterdam Felix Meritis (oldest concert hall in the Netherlands, 1788), Amsterdam Amstelkerk, Amsterdam Posthoornkerk, Amsterdam, Kasteel Heeswijk, Heeswijk-Dinther, Kasteel Seypesteyn, Loosdrecht, Honig-Breethuis, Zaandijk Huis Schouwenburg, ’t Harde, Huis Leyduin, Vogelenzang, Huis Oldenhof, Vollenhove, ’t Jagthuis, Nederhorst den Berg

Other activities : fortepiano competition (awards for fortepiano and squarepiano), masterclasses, fringe concerts (for aspiring fortepianists), symposium on the historically informed music practice and the public presentation of historic pianos, concert for children, exhibition.
