Chopin & George Sand

George Sand, a famous novelist, was one of the most significant ladies in Chopin’s life. Sand and Chopin were in a romantic relationship from 1838 to 1847. In this period Chopin composed numerous masterpieces. The “24 Preludes” was completed in Mallorca, where Chopin and Sand stayed for a few months in the winter of 1838 to 1839, while the other works were composed in Nohant where the villa of George Sand was located. They spent seven summers together in Nohant, and Chopin composed beautiful pieces in that romantic location. Chopin’s music often reflects situations and feelings of his life. In today’s works, hopefully you will be attracted by Chopin’s memories with his muse.

Locatie

Muziek Museum Zutphen
