Fernando Santiago Garcia – cello

Fernando Santiago García Fernando Santiago García studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Lucia Swarts, Dmitri Ferschtman and Anner Bylsma, obtaining in 2013 his Master’s degree with distinction.

In 2014 he moved to Japan to study baroque cello with Hidemi Suzuki at the University of the Arts in Tokyo. Fernando has worked together with Lucy van Dael, Chiara Banchini, Barthold Kuijken, Alfredo Bernardini and Vera Beths, and he has appeared with the orchestra of the Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Netherlands Bach Society), Divino Sospiro, Handel Festival Japan, Apollo Ensemble, Orquestra Barroca Vigo 430 and Concerto Foscari, giving concerts and recitals in Japan, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium and The Netherlands.

Since 2016, Fernando is a baroque cello professor at Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo (ESMAE) in Porto, and has been invited to teach at the I and II Curso de Verán de Soncello (Galician Cello Society, Spain), III Ciclo de Música Antiga da JOBRA (Conservatory of Branca, Portugal) and XIV International Early Music Course (Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and ESMAE in Porto).
